a picture is worth a thousand words. Here's 5 thousand and a bit

Japanese BBQ (all you can eat... I ate for the whole 2 hours and couldn't eat for 48 hours afterwards) with my family the day before I had to leave.


Mommy tries to resist my affection. But you know she really loves me. Even if she won't say those three words. I've tried asking "Do you love me? Am I stupid?" and I can't even get a "yes." I get "tao yen," "fan eh," "oo liao," and "guen kai." Code words!


These are the salads Lyn-ni and I made for Wescf BBQ... aren't they colorful? :) Lyn-ni is awful at cutting fruit, but it was entertaining. Haha.. she actually went through the trouble of peeling those evil Sunkist oranges. A significant portion of the fruit and veggies were acquired at Mocon Monday at lunch. We felt like such sketchy sophomores, sneakily tucking food in our large backpacks. Oh yeah, and the salad in the upper right is a tuna sesame salad I copied from the Japanese BBQ restaurant. It disappeared really quickly.


Prometheus (the fire spinning club; it's like raving with wads of cloth soaked in lighter fluid on fire instead of glowsticks; very hardcore) performing and recruiting on Foss Hill. So awesome! Max has some better pictures which I will steal later and post. (My battery died like after about 15 minutes because I always forget to charge it)


So this week has been remarkably busy and dinner has mostly been stuff like soba and salad and sandwiches, but today I had a bit of time. I meant to make spaghetti but stupid Weshop still didn't have basil, so I just improvised and made this humble meal which surprisingly tasted okay. Rice (I'm Asian, gotta have the rice), broccoli and chicken stir fry with chili paste and fish sauce, fan chieh tsau dan with shrimp, and grapes and pomegranate juice to round out the meal. The blueberry muffins are from breakfast... baked a pan for the poor hungry frosh. :)
